A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

Burrito Dave’s Taqueria is parked outside of the CVS on Highland Avenue (936 Highland Ave) from 11:30am-6:30pm every day during the week. Yesterday was a cold day to be waiting outside for a burrito, but we made the effort (I was kicking myself for not going during the summer months!).

It was late-probably 2:30pm and the line was non existent! When I drive by at lunch time, the line can stretch down the block! The burrito is hefty, a generous portion of food. The service was friendly-and quick-we didn’t have to stay standing outside for long!!

Here’s the menu:

Burritos

A soft 10″ or 12″ tortilla wraps a yummy combo of cheese, black beans, rice, salsa verde, and Pico de Gallo. Included are your choice of warmed braised meats – beef or pork or chicken. Add extras – sour cream, guacamole, chopped Jalapeno peppers for no charge.

$4.50 regular / $5.50 grande

Tacos

6″ Corn tortillas toasted on the grill with cheese, taco sauce, and tomato salsa(pico de gallo). Your choice of beef, pork, or chicken. Extras – sour cream, guacamole, chopped Jalapeno peppers can be added.

1 taco $3.00 / 2 tacos $4.50

Quesadillas

Cheese, tasty taco sauce, pico de gallo on a 10″ tortilla toasted on the grill. Your choice of beef, pork or chicken with any of the extras – sour cream, guacamole, chopped Jalapeno peppers.

$4.50

———————————

You can mix these ingredients up to make any combo you choose. You can add more cheese, sour cream, or guacamole to any item – currently at no charge.

Soft drinks and bottled water are available for $.75

So I get a regular sized chicken burrito, no beans, with guacamole and no sour cream. I was a little gun shy from my last experience with a burrito at Ole Cito….but one bite of Burrito Daves and I forgot all about that! The burrito rivals Anna’s (check out my Battle of the Burrito post). The chicken is white meat, the tortillas are high quality and steamed just right. The rice is flavorful and the guacamole is excellent (and super fresh!). Just a really great blend of tastes, all for around $5.
