A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

We had been to Prezza before (see post) and decided to go back for another try since we were going to be in the North End anyway. I apologize for the grainy photos, but it was pretty dark. I ordered the same appetizer as last time-the crispy shrimp ($16). Four enormous shrimps that looked more like shredded wheat. The shrimps were perfectly cooked and the crunch on the outside was excellent. I really love this dish!

My dining companion went with the “Ravioli di Ouvo” Ravioli stuffed with ricotta and egg yolk tossed with butter and sage ($10 for one). Two was plenty-these large raviolis were stuffed with delicious ricotta cheese and the sauce was rich and flavorful but not heavy at all. A really excellent dish.

I ordered the Potato Gnocchi “a la Bolognese” :: Rustic meat ragout, tomato, porcini cream and pecorino cheese ($18 for appetizer portion and $26 for entree portion). Let me tell you that the appetizer portion is enough! I brought half of the meal home (but how can that be a bad thing)! The gnocchi were tiny little dumplings that were so light and delicious. The meat sauce was more like a gravy than a tomato sauce. It came smothered with thinly shredded parmesan cheese-overall a really excellent dish-the flavors were really pleasing.

The service was so so. Our server had a blah attitude, he was neither friendly or rude, he just had no personality and was a strictly lets get down to business kind of guy. We were in and out in less than an hour! That being said, I think that the food more than makes up for the average service-I highly recommend going to Prezza!
